Change in Torque Wrench Calibration

by | |

We have changed the way we calibrate our torque wrenche #10570.

All torque wrenches will now be calibrated with a focus on the customers intended use.

Example:

#1 - GENERAL USE = calibrated with in our +/- 10% range for use in a broad range of torque values in both RH and LH direction. In this case, 100 in-lb RH direction might be calibrated at 92 in-lb while LH might be 108 in-lb. Both fit within our +/- 10% range but may not be ideal for customers seeking a tighter tolerance.

#2 - DIRECTION SPECIFIC = torque wrench will be calibrated with emphasis on a specific direction. The opposite direction will be ignored. This method would be suitable for a customer who only uses the torque wrench in one direction. The torque wrench can still be used in the opposite direction but might be outside of our +/-10% tolerance.

#3 - EMPHASIS ON A SPECIFIC TORQUE VALUE/RANGE = calibration will be performed specific to a customers desired torque value or range. If the torque wrench is going to be primarily used at 100 in-lb or 75 ~ 125 in-lb range, we will focus on accurately calibrating that while ignoring other torque values.

Calibration certs will be provider per torque wrench clearly noting how it was calibrated.

When ordering 10570, please specify the intended use.
