Stainless Steel Hex Keys, L pattern
Manufactured from Carpenter Custom 465 stainless steel. All hex keys are polished and passivated.
What's in a name? Despite the numerical name assigned to this alloy, Custom 465 is not a "400 series" stainless steel at all.
It's a precipitation hardening (PH) stainless, with corrosion resistant properties approaching that of 304. Combined with an
end product hardness of HRC54, this alloy is ideal
for high torque applications in any critical environment.
The long and the short of it...
What's the difference between the "standard" lengths and the "long" length? For most sizes, about 20-30%. The bigger the key, the greater the difference. Please note that for the three smallest sizes, in both the inch and
metric sets, there is no difference in length. And we always measure from the inside of the bend, not the outside. This is the useful "reach" of the tool.
For most applications, if you can get your hand close to the hex nut or socket, standard lengths should suffice. But
for those times when you need a little extra reach, we keep your options open.
