How Much Money Can Steritool Save You in One Year?
Hand tools manufactured from stainless steel offer the most cost effective solution for maintenance of process equipment inside a Cleanroom or other critical environment. While your initial investment will be higher with stainless steel tools than with regular carbon steel tools, your ROI (Return On Investment) is quickly achieved in the short-term and easily maximized in the long-term. Because stainless steel is an homogenous material, there is no plating or coating of any kind to peel, break, or chip. For this reason, stainless tools will withstand the autoclave process many thousands of times. The same cannot be said about a standard carbon steel tool which would deteriorate under that same critical process, quickly rendering it unsuitable for any sterile application. In fact, the number of times a carbon steel tool can be effectively sterilized can usually be counted on both hands. Most people prefer to add up a different set of digits: the one that demonstrates savings.

Commitment to Quality
                                       ...and Education

Sterile processing requires the right tools and the right training. Steritool is a proud sponsor of a series of continuing education courses developed by The University of Tennessee College of Pharmacy specifically for training in the preparation of parenteral products. Course attendees learn the procedures and techniques of aseptic processing, process validation, and quality control, and gain direct experience in processing parenterals. Our stainless steel tools are used during this hands-on  training program in the University's Parenteral Medications Laboratories.

With several sessions scheduled throughout the year, the PDA's Training and Research Institute offers a versatile schedule for its comprehensive two-week Aseptic Processing Training Course. The program offers manufacturing, QA/QC, and validation personnel a balance of hands-on and lecture training in aseptic processing. Committed to education, TRI is approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. Course attendees are eligible for eight Continuing Education Units (CEU).

Aseptic processing requirements cut across a variety of industries. Purdue University's Aseptic Workshop is designed to provide attendees with the knowledge of the technology used in the development and operation of aseptic systems applied to the food processing and packaging industries. Attendees participate in process demonstrations, packaging integrity tests, testing methods in chemistry and microbiology, and learn the essential scientific and engineering principles needed to apply aseptic technology. This hands-on course in aseptic processing, now in it's twenty-second year, is an industry leader.

Special Orders
Steritool specializes in short-run custom orders to meet the individual needs of our customers. Whether it be a modification to one of our existing tools, extra-long hex keys, or the manufacture of a new tool not available in stainless, we will work to provide the tools for your particular application. If you do not see what you are looking for among our products, email us with a request for quotation. Please be as specific as possible about the tool and the application, the quantity required, and let us know if you have a drawing or sketch you can provide.

We know your contamination control requirements cannot wait. You save time and money by ordering directly from the source.

People Often Ask...
...about stainless steel and magnetism. Many people have the misconception that all stainless steel alloys are non-magnetic. But in fact all stainless alloys (and there are dozens of them) contain iron, and iron is magnetic. What makes an iron-containing alloy non-magnetic has to do with its structure at the molecular level, and its complete explanation  requires deeper analysis than we can provide here. But it is true that the stainless alloys most people encounter in their day-to-day life are likely to be non-magnetic, austenitic alloys, used in everyday items such as sinks, kitchen utensils and appliances. However, these same common stainless alloys are not likely to be the same alloys used in the fabrication of hand tools, due to their inability to achieve the necessary level of hardness required for the effective use of most tools. For most tools, ferritic and martensitic alloys are used, which are magnetic.
